A spur of the moment enrollment in a self defense class taught by a Butokukan instructor got Sensei Walt Juneau started in his study of karate in 1974. Sensei Juneau earned his black belt in 1986 at the age of 56 and his second degree blackbelt in 1991. When his instructor, Sensei Bill Olson, retired he took over as head instructor. He is currently the senior instructor and business manager for Butokukan of Port Orchard.
