Sensei Bishop started karate in 1993 at the age of 37. He learned the basics under Sensei Walt Juneau and continued his training in the Port Orchard dojo under senseis Steve Markwith, Sandan, Bill Olson, Rokyudan, and Forest Stieber, Nidan.

In 2003 he earned his Shodan from Sensei Chuck Hess, Nidan. He has since continued his growth and training while also sharing teaching duties the Port Orchard dojo. His specially is ground fighting.
